Miranda Goodroad
|
Miranda Goodroad has balanced violin and fiddle studies for the past 10 years. Growing up in a musical family, she experimented with music at a young age. After settling on Violin, Miranda completed three seasons with the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association, an internationally acclaimed orchestra. She is active with the Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association (W.O.T.F.A.) as a fiddler for community enrichment events, also acting as show director for W.O.T.F.A. of Pierce County. She strongly believes in the power of reading music and that it's never too late to start learning violin. Miranda teaches an eclectic mix of traditional methods such as Wohlfahrt Studies, Josephine Trott, Suzuki pieces and sheet music to fit the student's playing style and personality. During the school year of 2003-04, Miranda interned with the 6th-8th grade Strings program at Gray Middle School. In this position, she polished her classroom skills, and studied under the tutelage of Gray's Music Department Chair. She has been teaching private lessons for the past 6 years. Miranda completed her Associates of Applied Technology in Massage Studies with an emphasis in musician injury prevention and clinical treatment in the summer of 2007.
