Mike Saunders

Mike Saunders has been a preforming Celtic
musician and music teacher in
the Pacific Northwest for more than thirty years. Coming from a
backround in classical guitar, he played folk music in southern
California from his high school days, and relocated to Seattle in 1965.
He has played at virtually all the major folk venues and festivals in the
area, and has been on the staff of many folk music camps and
workshops including The Festival Of American Fiddle Tunes in Port
Townsend, The Puget Sound Guitar Workshop, The Northwest Regional
Folklife Festival, The Vancouver Folk Festival, The Islands FolkFestival in
Duncan B.C. In 1980 he received a grant from the National
Endowment For The Arts to study fiddle with the lgendary master fiddler
Jerry Holland in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and is now performing and
teaching the Cape Breton fiddle style in the Puget Sound area. Mike is
currently performing solo and with many different friends including
Magical Strings, Dale Russ, and his latest band "Rogue Moon", and he is
teaching folk instruments at Allstar Guitar in Gig Harbor.
